ICDR Y&I Seminar on International Arbitration and Mediation – 20 September 2012

ICDR Young and International announced its fourth annual event in Russia:  ICDR Y&I Seminar for Young Practitioners – “Two Rapid-Fire Discussions on International Arbitration and Mediation”. CIS Arbitration Forum is a media sponsor of the event.

The event is organized in cooperation with the American Bar Association’s Section of International Law, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and Moscow Arbitration Forum Below 40.

The first panel will focus on advocacy in international arbitration.  How do you persuade an international tribunal of your client’s case, in an effective and ethical way?  The highly qualified panelists will share their insights and experiences with respect to both written and oral advocacy – from the written phase of the proceedings, through counsel’s oral submissions and witness examination, to the closing statements.

The second panel will guide you through practical issues encountered in mediating international disputes.  The panelists will draw on their diverse mediation experiences to debunk international mediation myths and to explore the benefits, downsides and pitfalls of mediating international disputes.  The demand for international mediation is growing, and this panel’s insights will help you develop your knowledge and skills to meet this demand.

The Panelists who will address these issues include:

Andrey Astapov, AstapovLawyers International Law Group;

Dmitry Davydenko, Muranov Chernyakov & Partners law firm;

Marina Kaldina, Basic Element Company;

Bruce Macaulay, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP;

The Panel moderators are:
