2023 London Summer Arbitration School is inviting appications

The 2023 London Summer Arbitration School is inviting applications. It will bring together leading practitioners, academics and representatives of arbitral institutions. The school will take place on 26-30 June 2023 at the Bush House, Aldwych.

It targets primarily young practitioners who want to know not only about commercial and investor-state arbitration but also more specialised areas of international arbitration as well as related career opportunities.

The interactive five-day programme will introduce participants not only to commercial arbitration but also to less well-known types of arbitration such as maritime, construction and commodities arbitration.

The participants will also engage in discussion of related career and business development opportunities with practitioners and representatives of institutions.

Faculty

This year’s confirmed faculty members include:

  • Prof. Dr. Jacomijn van Haersolte-van Hof, Director General of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA)
  • Meg Kinnear, Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID)

In addition, it will include a class on oral & written advocacy skills and a panel on careers in international arbitration with senior London-based practitioners.

Professor Yarik Kryvoi, is the founder and co-editor of the CIS Arbitration Forum. He is the Senior Fellow in International Economic Law and Director of the Investment Treaty Forum at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL). Before moving to academia, he practiced law with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, Morgan Lewis & Bockius in Washington, D.C. and Baker & McKenzie in St Petersburg.
